Hermann Bär is an professional urban dancer with focus on breaking and showing up in theatre productions since 2015. Due to his experience in the fields of breaking, tricking and contemporary dance, he developed his own movement language, with which he adapts urban dance styles to dance theater contexts and uses them in various ways. Since 2018 he is touring internationally with the inclusive stage production SEIN directed by Lisette Reuter. For the dance network ARTbewegt he developed the solo piece BREAK THE WHEEL in 2019 as part of an urban artist's residency and in 2018 he has been dancing in the production A.K.A. directed by choreographer Yvonne Eibig.
Currently he is working as a choreographer for commercial stage shows as well as for the urban contemporary youth company JUTAC and teaches workshops at various festivals. Hermann is also a member of the board of the network ARTbewegt and is involved in the development and promotion of regional events and network activities.
In addition, as a photographer for battles and other events dealing with dance, he combines his experience as a dancer with his second profession, photography.
Hermann was 2015 awarded the prize for staging art of the German Sports University during his studies and was honored for his artistic work in 2019 as FUTURE IMPACT MAKER_ by the culture business of the city of Aachen.
